Dear Live Your Best Subscriber,
Welcome to our August issue. Thanks for joining us.
I'm thrilled to write you this month, as I celebrate the
one year "official" anniversary of my coaching practice.
As some of you may know, beginning a new business can be
intense, hectic, and scary. I'm really pleased to have
passed this "first year" mark, and look forward to
making this next year better than the last.
I'm pleased to announce the formation of a new group for
dissertation coaching. Email coach6-22144@autocontactor.com
for more information. Coaching groups are a cost-effective way
to create high impact results.
Next month, two colleagues and I have teamed up to offer a
coaching group for those looking to create more joy in their
lives and work. Email coach5-24188@autocontactor.com for more information.
Oh, and before I forget, this month's issue focuses on
dealing with clutter. Take a few minutes this month to
get rid of all that stuff you don't need anyway.
I look forward to your contest entries and I'll see you
again in September.
Warmly,
Rachna
p.s. THANK YOU for passing this newsletter on to
your friends and family. I value your willingness
to share this newsletter with people you care about.

Dealing with Clutter: 5 tips in 5 minutes

Clutter sometimes seems to be a household word. We have "junk"
drawers or "clutter" drawers- where we hold onto stuff we might
need on some random day that we might need it. Entrepreneurs are
especially prone to clutter, as they often have a great many ideas
and projects "in the works", and everything starts to pile up.
This month's issue offers 5 tips for dealing with clutter:
1) Decide
First, decide that you want to manage/get rid of clutter in your life.
This can be actual things, or even "ways" of approaching various tasks.
So you might want to recycle old newspapers, or to find a more efficient
way of managing your bills. In both cases, you must, first, decide to
get rid of the "clutter" and find a new way of doing things.
2) Are you the best person to handle this?
The next step in managing clutter is taking some time to figure out
whether you, yourself, must attend to this particular item. Is it something that
is highly specialized? Fun? Something you really want to do? If so, keep it
with you and create an action plan for dealing with it. If you don't
have to handle it….
3) Dump or delegate.
Dump it means you throw it away or recycle it. Delegate it means you
hand it over for someone else to take care of- AND that you hand over attachment to the outcome. It does you no good to hand something over and then worry about how it will be dealt with.
4) Small steps.
It can often be overwhelming to deal with clutter all at once. Like any
other task, it's easiest to do when you break it down- shelf by shelf or
drawer by drawer.
5) Consistency.
Once you've created some way of reducing your clutter, make a
small commitment to attend to this regularly. Again, by keeping
track of it on a consistent basis, you will be less overwhelmed in
dealing with it.
Now…I'll end here and go clear off my desk. See you next month!
