10 Tips to Live Your Best in 2003

*Allow people & events to leave your life
Letting go is a necessary step in having more or better.
If someone or something wants to leave your life, allow
it to do so- knowing that it has fulfilled its role in
your journey. Begin to look ahead to what wonderful
possibilities might be on the way.
*Allow joy
Too often, we put off happiness and joy for the future.
Instead, wouldn't each day be more fun if we allowed joy right now?
*Allow time to rest & reflect
In our fast-paced society, we often run to keep up. Sometimes,
though, we can be much more productive and effective after
taking time to rest. Reflection is a necessary condition of a
conscious & intentional life. Make time for both.
*Allow yourself to not know
We can sometimes feel pushed to have all the answers- even
when we don't. The most successful people are those who can
continue to move forward, even in the face of ambiguity or
uncertainty. Try thinking of this as "I don't know- now."
rather than, "I won't know- ever."
*Allow forgiveness
The holidays/end of year is a great time to forgive yourself
and others. Let go of past mistakes, bad situations- start
the new year with a clean slate. Remember that you're always
doing the best you can with what you've got.
*Allow change
This is a tricky one. We seem to always believe that change
is bad. However, change just is- our perspective colors it.
If you can connect in with the larger flow and order of life,
you will find it much easier to allow change and have faith
that all is, truly, well.
*Allow new opportunities
Give up, even for a day, on the "usual way" of doing things.
Allow yourself to play with ideas, change your mind, say "yes!"
where you might normally say no. Fear less and allow more.
*Allow harmony
One of the most challenging experiences is to find harmony with
ourselves. We often feel that we need to be somehow better,
different, more, or that others have to change to please us.
Now- make a commitment to harmony and feeling good above all
else. Your self perception & close relationships will change in
miraculous ways.
*Allow health
Historically, many people set resolutions around health/wellness-
creating elaborate plans for gym attendance and weight loss.
Instead, try allowing health and wellness in from the inside out.
Decide how it would feel to be healthy, first, and allow this
feeling to guide your actions. Notice all the ways in which you
are already extremely healthy- and maintain your gains.
*Allow play
Take time each day or week to be unfocused and out of action.
Use playtime to connect with your friend, partner, or children.
Lighten up. Laugh- A LOT.
In all these choices, you will create a fulfilling and abundant year
ahead. Happy Holidays, and good allowing!

Quotable Quote:
The art of living does not consist in preserving and
clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing
happiness to change its form without being disappointed in
the change; happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow
